In April 2007 we carried out a patients’ survey looking at standards of service including quality intervention, continuity of care and areas needing improvement.

The exercise shows that the overwhelming majority of responses indicate a palpable appreciation of the service. Patients feel welcome, understood and that their needs are taken care of. It is also clear that patients feel a sense of ownership and personal recognition from the service. On the other hand, patients voiced concerns in relation to waiting times, smells and desired more opening hours (including week ends).

Out of 100 completed questionnaires, we found that:
87% were satisfied with the practice.
83% were satisfied with the continuity of care.
92% were satisfied with the quality of care the nurse provides.
61% were unable to work due to long term illness.
76% have a long standing illness or disability

Some patient’s comments:

“Service from staff is very good, nurse is very good”

“All round care”
